HOW TO GET YOURSELF TRADED…
AND MAKE IT LOOK GOOD

“African-American quarterbacks have to work a little harder to succeed in the NFL” – Donovan McNabb
What??? I looked at this comment like the dog in the record player, you know the one where his head gets a little tilted to the side? As in, “what the hell is that?”
Joey Harrington, Josh McCown, Trent Green, Chad Pennington, Rex Grossman. Does anyone see any similarities here? Oh that’s right, they are all white quarterbacks in the NFL, but not only that, not one of them are named to their respective teams ALL-TIME TEAM. Donovan McNabb seems to be taking a page from the Terrell Owens playbook by proclaiming that last statement on a TV show this past week.
You know the deal. I’m not being paid enough, loved enough, etc. in this town so it may be time to leave, without actually asking to be traded. Losing in Philly seems to do that to players, ever notice that?
He’s had to endure a lot of criticism and controversy in Philadelphia but not near as much as the quarterbacks listed above. How would he like to be Grossman in Chicago or Harrington when he was with Detroit or now in Atlanta? His statement was uncalled for, unnecessary and unwanted, especially in a time where the last thing the NFL needs is another controversy with a quarterback.
He’s been the face of the franchise for almost 10 years now, and now decides to speak out, even after the team, the League and the fans backed him in the Rush Limbaugh controversy some time ago. Where did this come from?
Does he want out of Philly? If so, he’s greasing the skids for that to happen. Did he have anything to do with Jeff Garcia not getting a renewal? Some may think so, because the team made it clear that this was Donovan’s team and let Garcia go to Tampa Bay as a free agent. Is Kevin Kolb the future? Donovan thinks so because he never said how upset he was at the Eagles for drafting him, AND he’s gone out of his way to help the youngster. Most veteran QB’s would rail at the drafting of a quarterback when they are in their prime and have quite a few years left. (See Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers)
So why now and what does he want exactly? I understand the quotes he made were in context to a larger question and part of a lengthy answer, but he has been and will continue to be “The Man” for the Philadelphia Eagles.
The big question is, does he want to be?

again dear u have been very productive in your writing. i very much enjoyed this. but just how stupid is michael vick now caught smoking pot. i am afraid that certain players alter ego's have lead them to believe they r god..... xxxooo
